Description:
The oblong stained glass pane features a warship at sea. The ship is angled to show its right side and three masts with its partly unfurled greyish-white sails. The ship’s stern is decorated with gold and brown tones, and the vessel is adorned with six flags. Some flags are of Dutch origin, and some display a red cross on a white background, suggesting the flag of England with the Cross of St. George. One of those is bent down over the stern. Further away to the right is another smaller sailboat with a white sail visible from a distance. The light blue painted glass represents the sky, and the dull bluish-gray tone represents the sea. At the bottom of the oblong, a yellow scroll-like area contains an inscription, "Holland’s Glory 1667", in black lettering. The oval center pane is surrounded by an octagonal border decorated by swirling yellow floral motifs. (Wasifa Orthy '26)
