Description: One of a pair of candlesticks composed of Chinese export porcelain based on silver originals of ca. 1740-1750; decorated in underglaze blue enamel, nozzel or candle cup has blue flowers, shaft has diamond diapering and flowers, the scalloped shaped base is decorated with an aquatic scene of a pagoda on one side with pine tree, boat, and rocks, and a house, the edge of the base has a repeating border of carnation and scroll, the edge of the base is slightly notched or crenalated, on the base of one stick - are modern paper labels "Allyn/10b" and "76017/(2); the base of the other stick is broken and restored; the paper labels on the base read, " Allyn/10A" and "76017/(1)"
