Description:
Fragment of the coulisses for the Baba-Yaga scene in the ballet that was produced by the Ballet Russes company and premiered in 1917 under the title "Contes Russes" at Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris ("Russian Fairy Tales," music by Anatoly Lyadov, choreography by Léonide Massine). In 1918, a new and finalized version of the ballet was presented under the title "Children's Tales" at the Coliseum Theatre, London.
