Narrative Inscription:  On a 3x4 card: "Pieces of dress worn by the queen of the Sandwich Islands, given by Mr. Baldwin, returned missionary, to a young girl in 1857." Printed on a 1x5 card: "Bark textile. Part of a dress worn by the Queen of the Sandwich Islands. Brought back by Mrs. Baldwin, a missionary in 1857." On a 1.25x2.75 piece of paper attached to the decorated piece of cloth by a metal clip: "Piece of dress worn by Queen of Sandwich Islands. Made from bark of trees. Maynard."

Description:
Missionary Cabinet. Two fragments of thin cloth, irregular in shape. One is roughly triangular, and light colored with bright dyed decoration in orange and black with a pattern of a series of square panels with geometric design, some areas of dye loss, and folded once at one end. The other rust-colored piece is folded several times, and has areas of damage.
