A long awkward pole can easily be secured in the ground with the aid of this device. Leonardo uses a carriage drawn by rollers and ropes to lift a pole from the horizontal to the vertical apex the ropes are cut and the pole drops into the ground. - Dr. Roberto A. Guatelli
