Label Text:
Leonardo's stability regulator was an elementary concept responsible for the development of the gyroscope. The weighted hemisphere is attached to opposite pivots on a central ring. The central ring is also attached at two 180 degree pivots on an outside ring. This orientation allows the regulator to sense any change in relative position. Stability of the hemisphere is realized when the model is in revolving motion. - Dr. Roberto A. Guatelli
