Label Text: The highly visceral work of New York artist Richard Dupont is characterized by a fascination with all things corporeal and a highly process-oriented approach. Like his realistic sculptural forms created using 3D scans of himself, Dupont’s two-dimensional work takes inspiration from the physical human body. This serigraph print, entitled Holos, evokes the ghostly form of the human head. Says Dupont of his practice, “I have always been much more interested in physical, material residue than information, but technology is a great tool as long as you disrespect it...using things, whether ideologies, machines or materials, in ways that they were not meant to be used, can be a good way to work.” - Artspace description
