Description:
George, No. 8972
A view of Queen Eleanor's Cross at Northampton, the summit cut off by the upper margin. Two elderly men gape at it open-mounthed. A third (r.), more fashionably dressed and wearing top-boots, examines it superciliously through a glass. The cross is freqeuntly visited by 'some honorable F.A.S. [F.S.A].
