Label Text: SKINNER CATALOGUE: Chair. A very fine 18th century "Central" splat back arm chair of the type with moulded stiles, the moulding lines carrying across the top. Maple throughout, except pine splat. Top rail shaped and moulded and forming a continuation of the back posts, in the Dutch style. Bottom rail straight and plain. Splat Dutch inverted vase. Back and arms shaped; arms terminating in a scroll beyond the supporting front posts. Back posts squared, front posts squared and well turned, and terminating in vase turned feet. Single front stretcher strongly ball and ring turned, single side and back stretchers squared. 4 3/8 inch front apron deeply scalloped. Twisted rush slip seat not original. All foot terminals have been repaired. Height: back 44" seat 17 1/4" Diam. posts 1 11/16" Cat. 8/20/1936
