SKINNER CATALOGUE: An 18th century New England splat back side chair in the Dutch style. Maple posts and bottom rail, hickory stretchers, pine splat and top rail. Top rail cyma curved, bottom rail straight, inverted vase splat. Back posts, which extend above the top rail, are long vase turned between the rails, plain below, and have very simple spheroidal finials. Front posts ring turned between stretchers. Two front, two side, and single back stretchers plain. Twisted rush seat not original. Cat. 8/20/1936
