SKINNER CATALOGUE: Chair. A crude hand made baby's or doll's arm chair, probably of the latter half or quarter of the 19th century. Back posts and arch of the back are a single piece of hickory, front posts and arms are also a single piece. Single stretcher midway in the back and four thin hickory twigs from seat stretcher to arch, to give a Gothic effect to the back. Single plain stretchers on all four sides. All joints mortise and tenon and nailed. Painted black, with the paint worn and blistered by heat. Seat of split ash, woven 2/2 twill. Height: back 19" seat 9 3/8" front post 1" x 11/16" Cat. 8/31/1936
