SKINNER CATALOGUE: Chair. A first half 19th century Duncan Phyfe child's side chair in mahogany. Top slat cyma curved, deeply notched at the center, set into a half joint at the top of the back posts. Lower slat plain, shaped, straight edged, and tenoned into the back posts. Back posts below seat and front legs shaped in the opposing single curves characteristic of Phyfe; oblong in section. Back posts above seat cyma curved and tapering to the top. Slip seat decorated with a woven floral design in colors on a plain black background. Chair has been reglued and right back post mended. Height: back 21 1/8" seat 12" Post 1 9/16" x 15/16" Cat. 8/20/1936
