Description:
Nine photographs showing various stages of packing a can of sardines.

Label Text:
Excerpt from wall label, for the exhibition “The Unexpected Encounters of Looking Again,” November 28 - March 15, 2007:
Throughout his career, Souza has been interested in found objects, the everyday and puzzles. Without the title of the work in place, the series of nine photographs as first appears slightly abstracted. However, looking closer at the images, a viewer can make out the slimy fish form of the sardines packed in the can. Once realized, a viewer may find this work slightly distasteful, or perhaps some will find it humorous and fun. - Rebecca Karp (M.A. '08)
