Description:
A tiny four barrel pocket pistol - Sharps' 1859 patent. The hammer is placed at the breech end of the barrels and, the cocking revolving the fire pin, each barrel is fired in turn. Cartridges are loaded and empty shells ejected by sliding the barrel forward. Four round blue steel barrels, cast in one piece, smooth bore. Brass handle, barrel end plate, and stock extending underneath the barrels to 5/8" from muzzle, all cast in one piece. Full checkered, split, hard rubber grip. Groove rear sight, brass pin muzzle sight. Stud trigger guard. Stock marked C. SHARPS & CO. PHILADA. PA. on the right side, and on the left C. SHARPS PATENT 1859. A.L. Ide stamped on stock - 17397 on base of butt. Corner of rubber handle broken off on right side - otherwise complete and in good condition.
