Description:
Original label: "An 18th century flintlock "Brown Bess" musket which has been changed over to an early type percussion cap. 46" round steel barrel, 13/16" smooth bore. Heavy, nearly full length, black walnut stock, terminating in a brass half band. Plain brass trigger guard, butt plate, and S side plate. Three brass ramrod guides, 46 1/2" ramrod, swelling to 21/32" diam. at one end and with tiny cork screw at the other. Flat side hammer. Lockplate marked: EDGE 1761 and G R under a crown. Marked 10 and a star on the barrel. Weight: 10 lbs."
