Description:
Writing box that contains a writing set with a lid decorated lavishly with maki-e (sprinkled picture) and mother-of-pearl inlay, with meander patterns as background and turtle, dragon and flowers in three separate roundels. The interior of the lid is decorated with a landscape of Mount Fuji with an island of tree in the foreground and water between. The writing set is under accession number MH 1893.6b.Q.K.
