Description: Silver scissors case with hinged lid and red enameled decoration. On interior flange are the engraved initials "EL." This case would have been part of a woman's equipage or chatelaine and hung from the waist with a needle case and other necessary objects.
Label Text: This case, monogrammed “EL,” was part of a lady’s equipage or “chatelaine,” consisting of cases for a pair of scissors, needles, and other everyday necessaries that were meant to be hung from the waist.
