Description:
Ruins of the Circus of Maxentius (known during Lauro's lifetime as the Circus of Caracalla), its surrounding walls still partially standing. Cattle graze and men hunt with crossbows within the grounds of the circus. Across the center of the circus' grounds there is an obelisk lying on its side, broken in many pieces. Hills and the tomb of Caecilia Metella in the background. Caption/key below.
