Description:
Light box made of dark wood with colored lighting elements inside concentric compartments with a glass face. When the box is turned on the colored lights flash and change within each of the different circles and the corners surrounding the concentric circles.

A US American folk musician specializing in the five-string banjo, Billy Faier’s years in Greenwich Village during the 1940s introduced him to diverse artistic practices and political ideas. Reflecting on his life, Faier noted, “Besides the people of the folk community I knew many young poets, painters, Anarchists, Socialists, and Communists.” For a number of years he was a light box artist as well. He owned a gallery in Woodstock, New York called the Light Box Gallery from 1968-1971 where he sold his light boxes and the work of local artists.
