Description:
grey irregularly shaped base with round insets, white with green and pink circle designs or black spiral, holding a lime green ball with flowers in pink, blue, red and white each center a yellow happy face [ball contains lotus flower and small playable CD], seated on ball a white cartoon-like figure with large hands and feet, blue bull's eye on chest, large head covered with eyes and two mouths (one open as though singing, other with large toothy grin), topped with yellow chopped hair

Label Text:
The cartoon-like figure of this piece is called Oval. He sits atop a "cosmos ball" which is Murakami's name for the sphere covered with smiling flowers. The meditating figure is loosely based on a Japanese Buddha sculpture, its multiple faces embodying the full range of human emotions: happiness, anger, wakefulness, and sleep.
