SKINNER CATALOGUE: An oval Shaker box, probably used for saleratus, pine top and bottom, hickory sides and rim. 4 5/8 inch, three tounged, copper tacked lap, which was characteristic of Shaker construction. Copper brads used to hold the sides to the top and bottom boards. Dull brick brown stain on the outside surface. Very faint pencil writing on inside of cover, which appears to start with "PHY..." Length 9 1/4" Width 6 5/8" Depth 3 1/8 in.Cat. 11/18/1936
