Label Text:
SKINNER CATALOGUE: An old wooden butter box, such as was used for shipping butter. Box of pine staves held by two wide hickory hoops of inserted tongue and notch construction. Pine bottom fits into the crozed groove in the staves. Two piece pine top, wooden pegged to the ash rim, which is lap joined and held with copper tacks. The outside surface is painted the familiar old time blue gray. Inside: diam. 12 3/4" depth 5". On the cover in black paint and hand printing is: C. Gates. Princeton Mass. with a red and black lining around it. Cat. 11/30/1936.
