Description:
Large chest with hinged door, painted polychrome decoration on a blue-green ground. Upper panel depicts a red-jacketed youth entering a gate beyond which a young girl and another boy are seated on a couch. Along yellow building in the center, and at right, another female on a couch. Two soldiers at far right, a youth and maiden at left, with a gondola being rowed by 2 youths; 3 figures dressed in red with black top hats at far right. Scene on Lake Patzcuaro? Sides and top of chest have similar designs, with scalloped border of black and green. Wrought iron lock and hinges.
