Description:
This is an overexposed black and white photograph of three toddlers sitting at a table and eating a birthday cake. The three kids are wearing the tall, pointy hats of the Ku Klux Klan. The overexposue renders all three ghostly white and blurs their features to the same color of the hat, so that only their eyes are still visible and the hat looks as if a natural extension of their head.

Label Text:
Manipulated historic photograph of three children eating birthday cake to which the artist added Ku Klux Klan hoods, included in the artist's Album Project, exhibited at MICA in 2010
