Description:
Crucifixion scene. Christ on cross in center with figures filling foreground and no sense of depth or space. To right is the Virgin Mary with St. John and Mary Magdalene. Two more haloes are visible behind those of the mentioned saints. The rest of the scene is filled with soldiers whose many spears and weapons fill the top third of the composition. Skull at base of cross. Figure to right holds a sponge on a stick. A banderole above the heads of the saints reads in Latin "Vere filius dei erat iste", "This was truly the son of God". Verso completely covered in German text.
