Description:
People gather in small groups in front of the Arch of Septimius Severus, a triple arch featuring lengthy Latin inscriptions. The arch, seeming to emerge from the earth (possibly in a state of excavation) is flanked by a free-standing Corinthian column to the left and a two-story columned building to the right. More contemporary buildings can be seen in the background.
