Description:
ca. late 19th or early 20th century plaster cast of a terracotta metope from Selinus Temple C dating to the Archaic Period, ca. 530 BCE. This metope relief depicts Perseus slaying Medusa. Perseus, in the center, is turned towards the viewer with his left arm extended and his legs in profile; Medusa, on the right, kneels on the ground. Athena, at left, looks on.
