Description:
ca. late 19th or early 20th century plaster cast of an Parian marble original dating to the Classical Period, ca. 450 BCE. Two women are depicted either sitting or standing face-to-face; they hold flowers and another unidentified object aloft. Both wear a type of dress called a peplos and a type of hairnet called a kekryphalos. The original stele fragment from which this cast is made is located at the Louvre in Paris, France.
