Description:
ca. late 19th or early 20th century plaster cast of a marble original dating to the Hellenistic Period, ca. 300-200 BCE. This sculpture is a representation of one of the daughters of Niobe as she flees from the attack of Apollo and Artemis. Her head has been lost. The original Greek marble sculpture is lost; this cast is based upon a Roman copy which was probably made under Hadrian, ca. 117-138 CE.
