Description:
English delft tile (broken) of a bird with its wings outspread and perched on a on a bough, decorated in Fazackerly colors of dull green, yellow, blue, orange, and purple/brown. The tile is set in a modern brown and green stained wooden frame with a scrolled and carved top, with the incised letter "F" and a branch on the top front, and a palmetto and "1940" painted on the back. There are also four applied leather disks to serve as feet on the back. According to the donor: "From the Tuckerman House, Amherst, MA., but eventually back from a house in New London, Conn." and "badly broken and framed by O.C."
