Description:
Silver tablespoon with a pointed oval bowl, slightly flared shoulders, and downturned fiddle-end handle, which is marked "N.D." in a serrated rectangle for Nathan Dickinson (1800-1861), and engraved with the initial "P" in foliate script on the front of the handle. A member of the Dickinson family of Amherst, Dickinson worked as a jeweler and silversmith in Amherst until he and his family moved to Romeo, Michigan, where he became s successful businessman.
