Description: According to the history of Keene, NH, O.H. and George O. Leonard made excellent rifles on Winter St. in Keene, NH, many were used in the Civil War. He was active between 1859 and 1869. George Leonard, his eldest son of Artemus Leonard, took over the business by himself around the time of his father's death in 1859 and moved to Keene, a more populated area which would certainly have been better for business (George Leonard moved on to Red Bluff, Calif., in 1869 and died there in 1887).
