Description:
This rattle, either made for the tourist trade or for use during kachina ceremonies by a Mudhead kachina, is made of a hollowed gourd that has been painted to resemble a Mudhead's red head, black eyes, and distinctive knobs that appear on the sides (as well as top) of the head. The handle of the rattle is made out of cottonwood root. AP2018
