Description:
Drawing of an archery tournament in Deerfield, Massachusetts, with participants and observers dressed in Elizabethan-style garb. The scene is set in front of a house with a broken-scroll pedimented doorway (possibly Ashley House). A lengthy inscription at the bottom of the drawing reads, "Mr. and Mrs. Homer S. Taylor, who, at the tournament of the Eastern Archery Association, at Deerfield, Mass, on July 1, 2, & 3 in the year 1925, did behave so courteously and did act so graciously as Host & Hostess - that their kindness met with the approval of all who attended the happy event." The drawing is signed indistinctly at middle left, "J. Mang [?]."
