Description:
Oil on canvas painting, landscape image depicts a dark moody winter scene with a birch tree in the middle ground. The painting is done in a tonalist style - very similar to his father George Fuller's work. The low distant hills and meadow are probably views from Fuller's farm, located near the banks of the Deerfield River.

Label Text:
From PVMA website: "George Spencer Fuller (1863-1911) of Deerfield, Massachusetts, chose to make farming his primary occupation, unlike his famous father, George Fuller (1822-1884). As a working farmer, he had little time during the growing season to exercise his talent as a painter, but in the winter he took the time to capture the muted winter colors surrounding him, and most of his paintings come from this season."
