Description: Accordion book wrapped in lace and ribbons with twelve woodcuts iside depicting the artist's personal experiences in Russia at the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Label Text: Artist's statement: “'A Reflection' is inspired by my study abroad in Irkutsk, Russia, in Spring 2022. My time abroad is heavily overshadowed by the Russian-Ukrainian war, which sent me home on March 3rd. The shock of being sent home laid a fog over my memories abroad. My own personal experiences in Russia were shrouded by the fear, anger, and sickening uncertainty that I have felt since the war began. By creating a 'before' and 'after' of the war, 'A Reflection' is a gentle and honest push to walk through that fog."
