Description:
The spout and half-hooded cover of this feeding cup lessened the chance of spilling food or drink. Gruel and other nourishing liquids would be dispensed from this vessel to an invalid in bed. Invalid feeder, Holland, c. 1700. Tin-glazed earthenware (delftware). Thrown bowl shaped feeder with half covered top, two attached lobed foliate handles at either end of the bowl, and an attached tubular spout, White labels on the base for "Dutch/ 1700", "CA/93" and "21"
