Description:
Floatwork-woven coverlet, possibly woven by Elijah Merriman of Northfield, Massachusetts, on the occasion of his daughter Rebecca's marriage to Flavel Stockwell of Gill, Massachusetts, in 1827. Off-white cotton, pale yellow and blue worsted wool. Wool/worsted fringe on three sides.
