A buff-coloured stoneware body, made from local marl clay and flint, first produced by Josiah Wedgwood in 1770 but significantly improved over the next two decades by the addition of Cornish china stone. Other notable makers were Spode, Davenport, Elijah Mayer, Turner and the Herculaneum factory. Teapot, Josiah Wedgwood Factory (1759-2005), Etruria, Staffordshire, England, c. 1810-1825. Caneware (stoneware) with lead glazed interior, molded all over with basket weave pattern, short molded sppout, molded loop handle, and molded wheat sheaf finial.
