Description:
Fruit Dish, probably James and Charles Whitehead Factory (working c. 1793 - c. 1810), Hanley, Staffordshire, England, c. 1800. Lead glazed cream-colored shallow earthenware dish, round with molded, silver shape scroll edge, the slightly everted rim pierced with openwork panels between molded festoons and drops of husks suspended from the edge, lathe turned foot rim on the backside, corresponds almost exactly to Whitehead pattern book #92, “oval and round [fruit dishes], festooned, pierced from 6 to 12 Inches.”
