Description:
Jug, North Shore of Massachusetts or Southern New Hampshire, 1800-1820. Redware with orange spots on mottled green glaze. Ovoid shaped body, missing lid. Restoration to upper rim. According to New England redware expert and scholar Justin Thomas, this jug was made in Essex County, Massachusetts or Southern New Hampshire. This example sold at Skinners.
