Description:
Jellies and other gelatine based foods like aspics are not very fashionable today. They seem artificial and usually take a great deal of time to prepare. In the past however, jellies and creams were often the crowning glories of the table. Press molded, oval creamware jelly or blancmange mold, intaglio molded with downward pointing stiff leaves around the border, and in the center is wild game including a pair of rabbits and a duck, all suspended from a bow knot, the exterior of the mold is undecorated, impressed in the underside of the mold is "WEDGWOOD" and possibly "278" or "273". There is a faint tint of blue in the lead glaze pooling on the footrim on the underside. Condition: The interior of the mold has been spray painted, possibly cracked or damaged underneath.
