Description:
Blue, bird-like wings stretch over a dark woodgrain background. One of twenty prints in the portfolio, “Traces,” inspired by the poem of the same title by Annie G. Rogers.

Label Text:
Artist's statement:
“My response to “Traces” was related to the structure of the stanzas. I interpreted a shifting viewpoint in the narrator as he or she collages personal memories together to form the poem. Similarly my piece collages elements of blue jay wings, seen from different angles, to tell an ambiguous story.”
