Description:
One of a child's set of four plates decorated with the alphabet around the rim. The plate is transfer printed with the inscription, "Incidents of the War/ The Naval Brigade/ News from Home." This place dates to c. 1855 during the period of the Crimean War, 1853-1856. The Russian Empire lost to an alliance of England, France, Sardinia, and the Ottoman Empire.
