Description:
Pair of women's side-fastening, black gaiter boots with matching patent leather heel foxing or counter. The boots are constructed with a seam down the center of the instep, and feature a square toe shape. An ink inscription written on the tongue of each boot "41/2[?]". These boots descended in the Rotch family of New Bedford, Massachusetts, area, and may have been made in either the North or South shore areas of the state.
