Description: Straight-sided, cylindrical pearlware child's cup with attached strap handle with foliate terminals; transfer printed decoration in purple on the front of cup depicts three children engaged in archery, the scene is inscribed "ARCHERY" and a young girl is poised to shoot her arrow at a target, in the background there is a teepee like tent with a flag and three other archers, in the front on the right hand side is a pile of archery equipment, the top rim of the cup and the handle are decorated with a black stripe of enamel, marked in transfer print in purple on the base of the cup is "DAVENPORT", manufactured by the Davenport Pottery, in Longport, Staffordshire, England, condition: there is a break in the top of the handle as it attachs to the body, there is a hairline crack extending about 1 1/2 inches from the top rim into the body of the cup.
