Description:
Ovoid-shaped, thrown red earthenware jug with attached strap handle, jug has flared lip, bulbous body, and turned foot and flat base, there are two incised lines on the shoulder of the jug, a double ribbed strap handle is attached to the neck and rim of the objects and joins the body with a thumbprint terminal; dark mottled colored glaze with green and orange colors and large daubs of manganese brown slip. Condition: There is a small chip out of the rim of the spout. Current attribution provided by American ceramics scholar Justin Thomas, 1/16/2019.
