Description:
Thrown redware pitcher with round flat base, swelled shoulders, and straight collar, spout is pinched from the edge, applied strap handle sits high on the body, decorated with an orange-brown glaze with more yellow appearing on the collar, some dark brown spots on the side of the pot, painted in red on the underside of object, "22." Originally part of the Burton N. Gates Collection. Original Gates notecard for the object reads, "Pitcher/ Col. Willimantic, Ct. 1911 Stone ware. Brown irridescent and a lighter glaze./ 6.5 in. high."
