Description:
Thrown, red earthenware inkwell with round, flat bottom, straight sides, sharply sloped shoulders, and rounded, circular spout, there are three holes in the shoulder area for pen nibs to soak up ink. The inkwell is coated with orange lead glaze on the interior and the exterior of the object. Condition: glaze losses along the exterior of the well and some soluable salts damage. Conserved at Williamstown Art Conservation Center, 2015.
