Description:
Mugs were produced in great quantity by every pottery, yet today few survive, probably due to rough handling in taverns and public houses. Thrown, lead-glazed red earthenware mug with flat bottom, straight sides, and applied strap handle, covered in a brown, green, and orange lead glaze. Condition: there is a large chip out of the rim.
